The "fine print"
Views expressed in this website are those of the authors, contributors and commentators, and may reflect community, social and political language and attitudes prevailing or in popular use at the time of writing, particularly so in respect of historical material referred to or cited. They do not necessarily reflect those of the Office of the German Honorary Consul or other diplomatic missions or government bodies, and may not be indicative of broader German or Australian community and political views today. This website and its sponsoring organisations are not responsible for views or content on external websites to which links may be provided in good faith and in the interests of promoting the heritage of Ludwig Leichhardt, his historical, scientific and educational achievements, and in facilitating and promoting tourism and other contacts today. All logos, brands, graphic identities and trademarks used, depicted or referred to in this website are the property of the respective copyright holders, government departments, agencies and registered owners.

Your acknowledgement of this website, and that of any copyright holders, would be appreciated. Certain content, such as original artworks, paintings, drawings, photographs or other images, and text, in this site may carry additional copyight references, requests for advance permission before any use, and specific forms of acknowledgement and application, and you are kindly asked to abide by their owners' preferences and parameters in this regard, otherwise you simply create bad karma for yourself and, frankly, who needs the additional stress in this life or the next?
Links - outwards
As far as reasonably possible, such links have been visited and verified, but no guarantees can be offered as to their continued existence or veracity. Visitors to this website and its suggested links are advised to exercise normal internet cautions and diligent browsing practices. Please advise us if you discover any broken, modifed, or suspicious/redirected links. We welcome your suggestions of additional, relevant links as this will help grow this resource treffpunkt for 'all things Leichhardt'.
Links - inwards
You are welcome to link appropriate external sites to this one, but we do ask that you make it to either (a) the entry-level homepage, or (b) one of the four tabbed 'department' pages: The Man, The Land, Program or Connect. Content of this website will be a 'work-in-progress' for some months, and no guarantees are offered about the static location of material in detailed sub-page links. Please assist by getting your visitors to our front door, just in case we're round the side, rearranging the furniture on the verandah, or maybe out the back with the metal detector and a shovel.
Errors, omissions and corrections
Materials compiled, collected and presented in this website have been sourced in good faith and as far as reasonably possible with any necessary permissions. If you find content or a link which you believe to be incorrect or in need of amendment or updating, we welcome your contact by the connections/contact form. Factual corrections should be advised (a) by reference to the material location in this website, and (b) with adequate information about the necessary details, and (c) one or more sources, links or cross-references to enable the claim to be checked.
Updates and responses
This website is managed by a team only as large as that of Leichhardt's journey north from NSW to the Darling Downs in 1843. If you're familiar with what we're saying, we appreciate your understanding and patience. Ability to respond to contacts, enquiries, advice of events and submission of text/images will be determined by the volume of input and the time and priorities available. Contacts of any kind will be acknowledged as quickly as possible, and a regular site update program - weekly, fortnightly or monthly - may be adopted once we see what the countryside is like after we set off. It has been a huge job just getting this website to this point, and there is already a huge body of empathy for Ludwig pointing to the setting sun on the horizon, in 1848, and saying 'I am going there'.
