Throughout 2014, a very keen trio of senior students from John Paul College on Brisbane's southside gave much of their extra-curricular time to developing the world's first Leichhardt mobile app.
The students were provided with a comprehensive briefing kit of the information, images, graphics and links used on this website's Southeast Queensland Leichhardt Trail pages. Coordinated by JPC teacher Amanda Kuhnemann, students Hayden Johal, Danielle Holding and Aydan Hardidge took up the challenge with relish.
Their working app was previewed for our visitor in a tent full of ther peers from across Queensland at the Oktoberfest for Teens ("O4T")schools day at Brisbane Showgrounds. Honorary Consul Prof Michael Schütz officially launched the app, accepting a USB with all the software from the students. We will be working to integrate their app into this website early in 2015 ~ great effort: thank-you, all!
