The full title of the original published account was much - much - longer, in typically thorough traditional style. The bold text is the popular contraction of the Journal of an Overland Expedition in Australia from Moreton Bay to Port Essington, a Distance of Upwards of 3000 Miles, During the Years 1844-1845    ...     Phew!

Amidst all the detailed insights and commentary in the pages of Leichhardt's published account, there is much which could be highlighted.
